Note to travellers: the region is bisected by the Mountain & Pacific Time Zones, with the transition being made (from points north to south) at the BC border west of Jasper, just west of Revelstoke, and along Kootenay Lake west of Creston. The resort communities of the Columbia Valley share the same time zone as Banff & Calgary all year round.
